a drum

I went to the market with Nat, visited 3 locations and got a drum, in my travels I met the craftsman who made the one I purchased . He says it takes 3 days to hollow out the trunk and craft the drum. To put this work I perspective, the finished drum costs 50 Ghana Cedis = 25 Canadian dollars or 3 days work. I did not haggle the price. Pic of the tool used to hollow the trunk, it is a blade on the end of a long stick and he works it like a scraper getting ice off the sidewalk and pic of drum, the third pic is seeing it's height relative to the sofa

Bulletin has gone to print

Thanks be to God. Election Irregularities, THIS IS A LAND MARK CASE AND WILl CHANGE THE VOTING PROCESS AND MAY BRING DOWN THE GOVERNMENT In 2012 Presidential Election, the opposition file charges against the government that there were a number of voting irregularities and laws broken which they feel that the election is not valid. Today the case started to be heard by the Supreme Court of Ghana. problem; Over voting, summery sheets not signed by the Poll Station Director, too many ballots for the number of listed eligible voters, duplication of summery sheets between polling station and polling stations in places that were not officially declared. So every tv and radio is broadcasting live the court proceedings. The fact everyone is listening reminds me of the OJ trial. It is the talk of the town. When I get home I will need to follow it on the Internet :(

almost in a panic

computer was working and then was not, I could open a document but could not save it or print it which meant the 20 page bulletin for the Installation and the newsletter would need to be re-entered, hours of inputing, not my idea of a way to spend the weekend and I would need to rustle up another computer, so .... after a couple of hours of fiddling, me and a fellow who knows computers, he thought my microsoft programme was damaged, I mean what do I know so I went home, and thought maybe just maybe it would work in the home environment, I know it has no bearing on function but I was looking for a miracle ok? sooooo I plugged everything in and guess what WORK LIKE A CHARM SO I PUT THE DOCUMENTS ON A PEN DRIVE,and prnted them and took them to the office, so that if this computer decided to act up again, at least these two are useable and I do not have to re-input, A MIRACLE FOR SURE!! so now my weekend is free to get some words together to preach at the Induction ... life in the electronic age oh my...

Installation of new dean on the 21st

wow getting ready for this is +++ work, I have been working on the bulletin, 20 pages with pics and all, hopefully someone else is going to format it into Publisher as I do not have it on this computer, service forms I have never encountered before with all the pomp and circumstance that the cathedral has, I am waiting for a fellow who has set up a web site for the diocese, he said 9am and it is 1020 so perhaps by noon, the present web site does not say much so hopefully the new one will be interactive and can be updated as needed, his arrival time 1140, before it is put up the web, will keep you posted, he did a great job in setting it up, now it is adding info and tweeking the wording
