MOTHERING SUNDAY

Today Mother's Union was highlighted, they bring offerings of goods as well as money, the goods get divided between the priests, so my goody bag had toilet tissue, canned milk, onions and eggs,, all very useful, ankle is aching today.. maybe it is raining somewhere as the sun is out here.

GHANA INDEPENDENCE DAY MARCH 6

As history has it, before March 1957, Ghana was called the Gold Coast. During the 15th Century the Portuguese visited the coast of Ghana. They discovered that the land between the rivers Ankobra and the Volta was full of gold that they named the land Mina- meaning Mine. The Portuguese built a castle at Elmina in 1482 to trade in gold, ivory and slaves. The Dutch also joined them in 1598 and built forts at Komenda and Kromantsil. Other European traders from Britain, Denmark and Sweden also joined in by mid-18th Century. However, many of them withdrew later and Britain colonized the Gold Coast by 1874. The British made the North and the Ashanti a protectorate by 1901. Independence 59 years ago

thought I was between a rock and a hard place

Phone works when I get up, do morning routine, pick up phone and it won't turn on, plug in ....  maybe needs charging, still won't turn on, so what do I do,, the phone is my life line to the world, think of a plan...could see if Vadafone is open and let them fix the phone    oopsy can't walk that far yet, it would kill me, can;t phone for a taxi...phone not working ...  crap so only option is wait and hope someone comes to visit, so leave phone plugged in and wait,,, an hour passes, I try to turn it on and it lights up like there was never anything wrong...   Talk about the phone being a necessity ,..... for me it is at the moment.

total money for chalk

so far $50.00 has been pledged, for chalk for St. Anselms Primary School..... only need $100.00 more to have chalk for one year.
I asked Adu to get some 2 peppers along with onions  in the market while I stayed in the car, well when I opened the bag at home there were 2 bags of red peppers, more than I would use in a year so I will gift them to others.
Something you dont see in Toronto, a herd of cows standing in the - in and out - driveways of the hospital,  I did not stay around to see how this would be solved. I was hoping to get a recheck xray of my ankle but so far this week, there is no film for the xray machine. Maybe next week.
