a visit to the sewing group

last year   i asked this group to make pot holders out of traditional fabric and they were very liked upon my return. This year it is aprons so a sample will be made for the first week of January and then more will be ordered. a small pumplkin was sitting on the floor eying me but not getting too close.

here  is Maame Serwaa (11 months) with Mommy, cute or what!

a day off

Both Victor snd Dominic are off to Kumasi for a workshop, Michael is in Bolga for  year end evaluations so I would have been in the office all by my lonesome SO I made an executive decision to stay home and 'chill'. Get up late, never after 8am here as visitors can appear as early at 8am, watch the news (not much that is encouraging), maybe look at laundry that needs doing, just looking mind you, finish sermon for Sunday (that I will get done), read as I like Alex Cross for sure, and later wander down the lane to the sewing group to say hello ad get this year's project underway. My goodness that is a very full day and it is only 850am.

forgot to show my xmas decorations. only a few minutes to set up and bingo...DONE  Baby amd Wisemen are hiding behind a pillow

Bishop visit to Adabokrom

A distant parish within the Diocese of Wiawso. A long ride with an hour  into the bush with roads like cow paths, Ebineezer driving is like skipping over and unnder  and through a puzzle to get a prize. The Mission of Adabokrom is lively and with the chatter of children. It is situated in a part of the country that struggles to keep going. As in Ontario churches are closing and being sold, here in Ghana new worshipping communities are popping up and struggle to life givinng to see and feel groups suxh as these live and worship.

Kingsfort new life

Let me introduce Kingsfort. He is 9 months old. He is the first child of his mom and she did did not divulge  that Kinsfort had something wrong with his foot for months (club foot, a condition that is easily fixed when the baby is very young) Becasue treatment started later than usual he needs surgery to loosen a tendon. The future looks good for him as surgey is scheduled  and he will wear a special boot until he is walking. then all will be right.

Clergy mtg

Had clergy mtg on Friday, it seems to me that it does not matter the diocexse or the country or the bishop, clergy mtgs are the same every where; a little  bit of news, a story of a stuggle in the church, a few new rules to obey and alot of discussion that does not seem to go too far. The grear news was we got a take-away meal so I did not have to cook for supper.

Time for work

 Ready to start the day

Then the day emerges. laughter, heated discussions, background sound 'I wish you a very Merry Christmas' from the computer, door opens and Bishop walks in.  oopsy is there too much fun, not really as long as the workd gets done.
